High expectations for students’ behavior at school are essential to achieving high levels of learning. We will spend the first several weeks of school learning the many written and unwritten rules and routines of our classroom and school. All these rules can be summed up in our two general classroom expectations: Work Hard & Be Nice
I expect my students will strive to meet these expectations at all times. Of course, all students will also make mistakes at some point during the year. This is expected. Depending on the situation, I may help through teaching, redirection, or consequences.
I look at all these as opportunities to fix mistakes, meet our classroom expectations, and develop strong character. But the most important thing is that each day is a new opportunity to work hard and be nice!
Learning is a Process
Every student has unique skills and abilities. My goal is to help your child develop those skills by giving his/her best effort, being receptive to feedback, and revising their work. Growth is our target! Check out this video to see this mindset in action.
