Optional Homework LinksHomework builds responsibility and important study skills. This year homework will include a mixture of reading, daily math work, and corrections. You also have access to optional online homework supplements if you'd like to add additional homework to your child's routine.
-FrontRow allows students to practice math, at his/her own ability level! Kids login using our class code: ziemkr and his/her student ID (61****) as a password. Once logged in, it is important that this practice is done independently, without any help at home. If they are having difficulty with a concept, and the video tutorials on the site do not help, your child may either stop or go on to another section. I want the information that I gather from Front Row to be a true picture of your child’s skills. -Dreambox is an excellent optional math focused website we will use this year. It is engaging, rigorous and aligned with the Common Core State Standards. To use the iPad app you will need our school code: jnr4/snoqualmiee. -Lexia is an optional website that kids can use to practice their reading skills. This website adapts to your child's level and alerts me when your child needs help with a concept. It even provides a quick lesson for me too so it provides a great bridge between computer practice and the human interaction. We'll be using Lexia mainly at school but you're welcome to use it at home too. More practice will definitely mean more learning. Please contact me if you are concerned about computer access. There are programs available to provide low-cost computers and internet service to those who qualify for free or reduced school lunches. If you have any questions about how to use these resources, please let me know. Thanks! |
